The Talon Group, comprising Structural Diagnostics, Inc. (SDI) and Talon Test laboratories, Inc. provide nondestructive testing equipment and services to the Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, Ordnance, Power Generation, Primary Metals and Transport Industries.

SDI is a leading manufacturer of automated non-destructive testing inspection systems. It was formed in 1994 by a group of NDT engineers; former academics, lab managers and level 3s, who had been manufacturing automated NDT systems for over thirty years, formerly as Automation Industries, Qualcorp, Staveley Aerospace Systems, and Erdman Instruments.

SDI operates from a 35000 sq ft business park unit in Camarillo, California. All aspects of product design and manufacturing are carried out in house providing significant costs, performance and delivery benefits to our customers when compared with the more common systems integrator.

In 1999 SDI opened its first test laboratory – Talon Test Laboratories (Indianapolis). This was followed shortly by Talon Phoenix and Talon California. Extensively equipped with state of the art systems built by SDI, the Talon Labs rapidly achieved capabilities unmatched in the industry.

Products
SDI provides automated solutions to the challenges met in high volume test laboratories using all standard NDT methods. In addition to automating the test methods and defect evaluation, SDI specializes in material handling including part cleaning and packaging. SDI also provide custom designs and equipment rebuilds to increase productivity, enhance process performance and improve operator safety .
